I know that many of you are feeling frustrated, upset, confused, hopeless, and angry. I honor and acknowledge the pain of the turmoil you are feeling.
I am not here to tell you what you should or shouldn't be feeling, instead I wish to offer you a different vantage point to assist you in connecting with the bounty of opportunities that this election is offering us all.
I have for the duration of this political saga felt a deep sense of faith that everything was and will continue to unfold for our souls highest growth and evolution, even if it feels uncomfortable or dire.
The primary theme that this particular battle has brought forth is the invitation to take responsibility for yourself and your own life. To release blame, to shift out of waiting for the next “savior” or “perfect” president.
To untangle from the external drama, hatred, and division, and turn inward to heal and nurture any and all fragmented aspects of your own heart.
When we spew hatred, disgust, and anger towards one candidate and its supporters, are we not trying to fight fire with fire, partaking in the same energy that we hate so much?
Light and love do not battle or fight against darkness, they welcome it back into the light through compassion and love.
The intensity of this election is bringing to the surface so much that has been buried, ignored or suppressed, and for that I am grateful.
So let’s get raw for a moment and look at hatred.
If you are feeling hatred, rage or anger, it’s ok. The invitation and way to reclaim your power however is not to spew it externally, but to look within.
See the aspect of your inner child consumed in these feelings. Allow this aspect of you to be honest and authentic in expressing everything they feel. What you will likely find is that shortly below the surface of hatred is pain, hopelessness, confusion, despair, sadness. Emotions that feel far more vulnerable and “weak” than hatred, rage or anger.
Embrace your power to be present with these vulnerable emotions. Listen, soothe and nurture the aspects of you that feel helpless in the way you would soothe a scared and broken child or animal. “I’m so sorry for your pain. I acknowledge how much this hurts, how scared you are. I’m here with you now. I’ve got you. You’re safe with me. It’s ok to feel what you feel. I love you. I love you. I love you.”
This is your power. Your power to be fully present with all aspects of your humanity. To turn towards the not so pretty parts, and instead of trying to overcome, clear, or fight them, have the audacity to embrace them, love them, nurture them.
I know that many of you are concerned. And again, I understand and acknowledge your concern. And so again, instead of mindlessly getting consumed in the collective concern, joining with the concern of others to try and predict a future that none of us can be certain about, why not try going within?
To the aspect of your inner child consumed in concern: “I acknowledge how concerned you are. I am so sorry for the pain that this is causing you. I understand you feel fearful. Let me listen to your concerns, express yourself honestly and authentically, and I will be here to love you through it all.”
In all honesty I feel grateful for the turmoil and intensity of this election, because I know to my core that this is the eternal invitation to untangle ourselves from external drama, shift out of trying to fight fire with fire, and instead heal our hearts.
In healing our individual heart we heal the heart of all beings, and from there we ignite the global change I know so many of us are ready to see.
The change begins with you.
Let the anger, rage and hatred you are feeling destroy your dependency or attachment to an external source fixing or changing what only you can truly do for yourself. Let it destroy any patterns of not acting or speaking your truth for fear of what others will say. Let it destroy the complacency, and clear space for action ignited from alignment with your inner truth.
Stop waiting for the world to be what you want it to be, and begin voting every day for love and the oneness you desire by being love and oneness within.
What is the change you are wanting to see? The invitation right now is to be that change, right now, regardless of who the president is.
Do you want to see equality for all? Can you begin to welcome all thoughts, emotions and feelings with equality? Can you begin to meet all people, regardless of their different beliefs or opinions with equal love and compassion?
Loving whatever arises within you enables you to look beyond the charades of drama, fear, and hatred, and see that at the core are hurt, scared, vulnerable children in need of comforting and love.
May the innocence of all hearts be met with more love, compassion and kindness.
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
