We live in a tumultuous and exciting time of transformation and evolution. It can be profoundly overwhelming and even feel hopeless at times. There is a thick currant of fear that pulses in the air, and as light workers, empaths, and sensitive souls, it can often feel like too much to bear.
I know how easy it is to look upon the world, to login to Facebook, and be inundated with countless horrors, injustices, and devastations of all kinds. I know how much appears to be broken. I know how deeply you yearn for things to be different. I know how much you care. And I know how heavy it can feel at times.
So today I want to share with you the one simple but profound practice that I implement throughout my day to assist me in shifting out of fear, out of victimhood, out of a sense of powerlessness or injustice, and into a state of harnessing, owning, and recognizing our power to inspire the change we wish to see.
I have long believed that our greatest potential to initiate and inspire change on a global scale begins within. I believe that the more time we spend cultivating a kind, compassionate, loving relationship with our own self the more we can inspire a more kind, compassionate, loving world.
I’ve recently been hearing terms such as “inner mean girl, inner bitch, inner critic,” as words to describe the inner thoughts that doubt our abilities, that hold back from sharing for fear of what others will think or say.
I feel such pain in my heart when I hear these labels, for while well meaning (working towards more inner peace and harmony) they carry within them a notion that their is this horrible being within you that needs to be overcome, shut down, locked away, and destroyed.
The image I get is this aspect of your inner child that has been denied her true feelings, has been denied her fears and insecurities, huddled in a dark corner, scared, lonely, and starving to death.
Anytime we try to dominate, suppress, control, or destroy, we experience more turmoil, more suffering, more despair.
We see this on a global scale - the war on drugs, the war on racism, the war on working mothers, the war on stay at home mothers, the war on meat eaters, the war on vegans. The more one side fights or tries to attack or destroy, the other side pushes back with equal intensity.
Or as a more tender example, a child wanting your attention, tugging on your pant leg. The more you ignore that child, the more energy the child puts into getting your attention.
So circling back around to the powerful tool I utilize on a daily basis - if we recognize in the examples above that ignoring or fighting against any and all aspects of ourselves leads to more intensity, turmoil, and suffering, then what if we tried a radically new approach?
What if, instead of fighting against the things we see in ourselves that we don't like, instead of fighting against the things in the world that we don't like, what if we explored first honoring and acknowledging the pain of what’s arising, and then offer blessings focusing on that which we do want to see?
As I’ve shared in the past, as an energetically sensitive light worker I have a really hard time watching the news or being exposed to anything disturbing. This lead me in the past to keep my head buried in the sand, trying to ignore the pain and suffering of the world, shying away from the innate power I and all of you have to heal this planet.
With this powerful tool of blessing all that you see, perhaps now when watching or hearing a report of some terror happening to women around the world, instead of being paralyzed by the intensity of the pain and suffering, instead of burying your head in the sand, you can now go into this dialogue: “I am so sorry for you pain. I am so sorry for your suffering. May all beings be blessed with healing, transformation and resolution from any and all sexual slavery, pain, and trauma.”
Or perhaps you see a video of animals being abused. “May all animals be blessed with safety and freedom from abuse. May all beings be blessed with more love and safety from abusive and violent thoughts and tendencies.”
This can also be applied to anything you experience within your own being.
Perhaps you notice that you are feeling anxious. “May all beings be blessed with inner peace and inner calm.”
Perhaps you are experiencing debilitating or chronic pain: “May all beings be blessed with healing of any and all physical, emotional, spiritual pain.”
Or when eating food: “With every bite of this food that I eat, may all beings be blessed with access to nutrient rich food. May this food heal my body and all bodies everywhere.’”
I invite you to invoke your power today through this practice of blessing with world with all that you desire to see, feel, and experience. For it is you, beloved bearer of light, that holds within you the power to heal this planet and carry us into a more heart centered reality for all.
I would love to hear from you! What blessings do you wish to share with the world today? Comment below and lets join together in sharing our blessings with all!
